Sharing photographs
Great blog post I read via http://everyday.joelzimmerphotography.com/ .
Give it a read.

Shot this last year using a Holga 135 with Fujifilm Provia 100F.
If you look at the photographers whose work we admire, they’ve found a particular place, theme, or subject, dug deep into it, and carved out something that’s become special. And that takes a lot of time and a lot of hard work - that’s not for everyone. A great photograph really needs to say something about a person or give some insight into his life or how his life is different than yours and mine.
Watermark
Posting photos here made me thought of various things. One of them is copyright.I notice many photoblogs have photographs without any watermark or symbol. However, when it comes to some photoblogs (and even blogs) I visit,I see all the photos with a watermark.
I use to discuss this issues with various friends and some say that if we intend to use the photos in the future and all, they should be watermarked to ensure that those photos belong to us.Not all of my friends agree to this either. Some replied by saying that who would ever want to steal photos from some average photoblogger. Some also said that watermarking a photo destroys the aesthetics of a photograph and it conflicts with the whole initial purpose of sharing photography with everyone out there.Even with watermarks, one can still erase it through various means and even crop the watermark out. So,watermarks don’t really stop photos from being stolen but just deter in a way.
Honestly,this is what I think.
When I feel it’s necessary,I will watermark my photographs.Be it film or digital photos. This is because in case I want to sell it later or not,I can be sure that I still have the right to my very own photos. Also, some photos may have my friends or family in it,so I just want to make sure people don’t profit from them (and also in a way not cheat or offend them).I will also upload and even sell photos without the watermark. This is because I hope that everyone out there will be mature enough to respect other photographers’ or artists’ rights and ownership.
Well, that’s how I feel about this issue.

Here’s to a brand new start.
The name’s Chong Yong and this would be my new photoblog.I dabble in both digital and film photography with my current focus in film photography.I don’t own any fancy cameras and most of the cameras I used are either passed down or borrowed from my dad. However,I’m currently aiming (and saving!!) for my very own DSLR.
In this blog,I will share my photographs and thoughts on photography.
Apart from that all,I’m a struggling undergrad and I usually blog here.So do check out my main blog!!
